When applying to skydive/parachute the British Parachute Association require you to undergo a medical examination to prove you have the required levels of physical and mental fitness and coordination.

The British Parachute Association state that if you are 40+ years of age you must have a medical examination by a GMC registered Doctor. Additionally if you have suffered from one or more of the following conditions you will also qualify for the requirement of a medical: Previous fractures, back strain, arthritis and severe joint sprains. Also Asthma, chronic bronchitis, liver or kidney disease, rheumatic fever, pneumonia. Finally thyroid, adrenal or other glandular disorder, If you have any condition which requires the use of drugs, have recently given blood or are anaemic you will also need a medical.
